Breathing New Life into an Existing JouwWeb Site

Decoro Antwerp is Ignacio Incatasciato’s renovation company. Given the limited budget, switching to a completely new website wasn’t an option, so I continued working with his existing website on JouwWeb. Within the platform’s capabilities, I gave the site a thorough revamp: from colors and typography to structure, content, mobile display, and SEO.

What was
going on.

Ignacio came to me with an existing website built on JouwWeb. He wanted to make the website more professional and clearer, but within the available budget, it was important to keep the existing technical setup.

So a complete switch to another platform wasn't necessary. The main question was: How much better can we make the existing website using the features that are already available?

The problem

Where things

got stuck.

The existing website no longer adequately reflected how Ignacio Decoro Antwerp wanted to present itself.

At the same time, we had to take into account the limitations of JouwWeb. Not every design or technical choice that is possible on a custom-built website can be implemented in the same way within this platform.

The challenge, therefore, was to make as many improvements as possible within the existing framework, without an unnecessary migration or a completely new website.

My Role

I gave the existing JouwWeb website a complete visual and content overhaul.

I revamped the colors and typography, the page layout, the text, photos, and navigation. I also updated the mobile version.

In addition, I applied the relevant SEO settings within the capabilities of JouwWeb.

What I Built
or configured.

I redesigned the existing website directly within JouwWeb.

As part of this, I revamped the visual style with new choices for color and typography, restructured the pages and navigation, and updated the text and imagery.

The mobile version was also reviewed and updated to ensure that the redesigned website displays properly on smaller screens.

Finally, the SEO features available within JouwWeb were implemented.

Important Decisions

Not every website needs to be moved to a different platform right away.

For Ignacio, the budget was a key factor, and the existing JouwWeb environment could be retained. That’s why I chose not to sell more technology than was necessary, but to first see how much we could get out of the existing website.

That meant working within constraints, but focusing on making improvements where we could make a difference.

Get more out of the existing website without an unnecessary rebuild.

What
Changed

Decoro Antwerp has a thoroughly revamped website without having to switch to a different platform.

The visual style, page structure, text, photos, navigation, and mobile display were updated, and the available SEO settings were implemented.

Technically, the result is still a JouwWeb website, but it better reflects how Ignacio wants to present his renovation company.

that could work smarter too?

You don't need to know what the technical solution should be. Just tell me what's happening today, where things are getting stuck, and where you're losing time.
