A simple online business card for Woef and Klik

Woef&Klik is the website of animal photographer Karina Van den Broeck. Karina didn't have a website yet and was looking for a simple online portfolio to showcase her photography. I designed and built a website that I intentionally kept compact and where she can add and remove photos herself.

What was
going on.

Karina found me through another client. As an animal photographer, she didn't have her own website yet and wanted a place where she could showcase her work online.

She didn't need a complex website with all kinds of features. The photography had to take center stage, and the website had to remain clear and simple above all else.

The problem

Where things

got stuck.

Karina needed her own online space to showcase her work as an animal photographer, without having to rely on a complex website that she would have to have someone else manage for every minor change.

Above all, it had to be easy to update her photos so that the website could evolve along with her portfolio.

My Role

I was responsible for the design and development of the Woef en Klik website.

I helped determine the visual style—including the colors and fonts—and translated that into a simple website that showcases Karina's photography.

I also made sure that Karina could add and delete photos herself.

What I Built
or configured.

I built the website as a concise online business card for Woef and Klik.

The website was set up so that Karina can manage her photos herself. She can add new work and delete images without me having to step in every time.

The navigation also got a deliberate twist. Karina wanted the hamburger menu not only on tablets and mobile devices, but also on desktops. That’s why the same compact navigation was extended to larger screens as well.

Important Decisions

The photography was meant to take center stage. That's why I deliberately kept both the design and the structure simple.

I also decided to give Karina control over her own photos. That way, a simple portfolio update doesn't have to involve any technical work.

The hamburger menu on desktop was a specific request from Karina and was intentionally incorporated into the design, rather than being used solely as a mobile solution.

A simple photography portfolio that Karina can update herself.

What
Changed

Woef&Klik now has its own website where Karina can showcase her work as an animal photographer.

The website serves as a simple online business card, featuring a visual style designed specifically for her and a portfolio that she can continue to update and customize herself.

Do you have something

that could work smarter too?

You don't need to know what the technical solution should be. Just tell me what's happening today, where things are getting stuck, and where you're losing time.
